Where Elite
Athletes
Are Built.

Your Glory at the Top Starts Here.

Apex Athletics is an elite development club for post-high school and post-collegiate sprinters and hurdlers — the bridge between junior success and a professional career in the sport.

Our Philosophy

Science.
Precision.
Next Level.

Apex Athletics was founded on a single truth: the transition from junior elite to senior professional is the most critical — and most neglected — phase in an athlete's career. Whether you are leaving high school with national medals or finishing college looking to turn professional, this is the gap Apex was built to close.

We call it the escalator experience. Not a leap, not a push — a patient, science-led progression that develops the whole athlete: mechanics, strength, psychology, and race strategy.

Post-High School Pathway
For national-level school athletes ready to make the step up to senior competition under professional conditions.
Post-Collegiate Pathway
For college graduates who have the talent and hunger to pursue a professional career and need the right environment to make it happen.
Engineering Precision
Biomechanical analysis driven by Coach Riley's background in Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
Professional Environment
Training at Excelsior High with access to Technique Lab data science, international competition exposure, and a clear pathway to professional contracts.

"Apex represents the highest point — peak performance. This club is for athletes who are ready to make that transition and commit to the process of becoming elite professionals."

The Coach

World-Class Expertise.

David Riley is one of the most credentialed sprint and hurdles coaches in the world — an engineer by training, a biomechanist by practice, and a championship coach by result.

From guiding Wolmer's Boys School to a historic ISSA Boys & Girls Champs victory in 2010, to serving as a National Senior Coach at two IAAF World Championships and the Pan American Games, Coach Riley's career spans the full spectrum of the sport.

His Technique Lab has served athletes from 10 countries across 9 disciplines. As U20 Technical Director of the JAAA and a member of the World Athletics Coaches Commission, he is shaping the future of the sport at every level.

What We Train

Two Disciplines.
One Standard.

01
Discipline One

Sprints

Pure speed, developed through biomechanical precision. Coach Riley's engineering approach breaks the sprint down into its mechanical components — start mechanics, acceleration, maximum velocity, and speed endurance — and rebuilds each athlete from the ground up.

02
Discipline Two

Hurdles

The most technically demanding sprint discipline. Smooth speed over barriers requires a precise fusion of sprint mechanics and hurdling technique — an area where Coach Riley's Technique Lab methodology has produced consistent international-level results.

The Science
of Speed.

Apex Athletics is powered by Technique Lab — Coach Riley's performance science center and the Caribbean's first dedicated fitness testing data center. Every training decision is evidence-based, every session is tracked, and every athlete's development is mapped against objective data.

This is what separates Apex from a traditional club. We don't guess. We measure, we analyse, and we prescribe.

Biomechanical Analysis
Full motion capture and gait analysis for each discipline
Performance Testing
Baseline testing and periodic reassessment against international benchmarks
Individualised Programming
Training loads calculated from each athlete's data profile, not generic templates
Video Technique Review
Session-by-session footage with coach-annotated feedback via the Technique Talk methodology
